Q: Where do I stay?
A: We have a room block a the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort. This is where we also host our team dinner and have bus/van transportation race mornings for team members staying at the team hotel. This is one of the Wyndham's busiest weekends, so please book before the deadline of Friday, January 19, 2018 to be guaranteed our discounted rate. Room rates are available 3 days prior and 3 days post race, based on availability.

Q: How many days do most Team GP2C runners stay at the hotel?
A: It varies across the board, but the ideal scenario is to come from Friday to Sunday or Monday. That way, you can spend Saturday at the parks and Expo and attend the team dinner Saturday night. Some of our runners make a family vacation out of the event and stay the week, while others arrive the evening before their race and leave shortly after their race.

Q: How long is the discounted rate available? For example, if my family wants to extend our stay to enjoy the parks, will we still get the discounted rate at the hotel?
A: The discounted rate is available Thursday through Sunday PLUS up to three days before and three days after that timeframe assuming room availability.

Q: How many people does one of the hotel’s suites sleep?
A: The suites have the usual number of beds plus a pullout couch, so a King suite will sleep four, and a double suite will sleep six.

Q: What if I have a family member or friend who wants to stay at the hotel, but will not be running?
A: Your family and friends are welcome to stay at the hotel, as well, and they also will be able to get the discounted room rate.

arrival questions

Q: Will the hotel provide an airport shuttle?
A: No, the hotel does not provide shuttle service. We will provide you with a group discount link to airport transportation through Mears Transportation. Details to come.

Q: How do I get from the hotel to the pickup location for my race packet and bib number?
A: You can use the Disney Transport system or a ride service like Uber to get to ESPN Wide World of Sports on Thursday, Friday or Saturday; this is where the bibs and packets must be picked up. The pickup location will also include a large expo primarily featuring running-related businesses. Make sure you say “hello” at the GP2C booth while you’re there!

race day questions

Q: How will I get to the race from the hotel?
A: For Friday's 5K, Saturday's 10K and Sunday's Half Marathon: Team GP2C members who stay at the team hotel (Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort) will be able to ride on the team bus. The race is very early in the morning, so the bus will likely leave the hotel around 3 a.m. There are also taxis/Ubers available.

Q: Is there a shuttle back to the hotel after the race?
A: Because our runners will finish the race at scattered times, we will not be able to provide a return shuttle. The best way to get back to the hotel is in a taxi or Uber. Disney provides a free shuttle back to their host hotels, and from there you can switch to a shuttle that will bring you to Downtown Disney (across the street from our hotel). The shuttle method is very time-consuming, so if you are stressed for time we recommend a taxi or Uber.

Q: Will late checkout be available on race day?
A: The regular checkout time at the Wyndham is 11 a.m. Unless they are completely booked for the next day, they will allow an hour extension – so you can checkout up to 12 p.m. The majority of runners complete the race by 9:30 a.m.
