Raffles, research, resources and beyond!

GP2C Team;

Rett Syndrome Awareness Month is upon us! Our fantastic project and social media teams have compiled several resources for utilization as you help us spread the word. Please visit our Girl Power 2 Cure, Rett University and Rett Girl Facebook pages, or contact Amei and Kristi for any support you might need to bring awareness to your friends, families, co-workers and extended networks.

Our theme for this year’s daily communications will be centered on “Rising Above Rett” (#RiseAboveRett). You will see this emphasized in all our posts and communications as we celebrate courageous families who, despite the many challenges of Rett Syndrome, find ways to overcome, participate, advocate, and influence their communities and friends. GP2C remains committed to supporting families in their day-to-day lives, and advocating for support, education, accommodation, and inclusion of our loved ones in all phases of their lives… it’s one of the most important things we do!

Help us raise funds during Rett Syndrome Awareness Month!

Family Support Blog

The month of October is one that many Rett families face with courage and grace. They share their stories far and wide to raise awareness for those they hold so dear. One such family is the Boczars – Stephan, Mari, Lilliana, and Jonathan. For the Boczars, a life with Rett Syndrome (and Lilliana’s dual diagnosis of Williams’ Syndrome) was not the life that they planned, but it is the life they live. They live for the challenge, to help others, and for Lilliana. To read more of their courageous story follow the link!

Racing for Rett – October 12th
This is an annual 5K Run/Walk and silent auction that raises money and awareness for Rett Syndrome. In 2017, approximately 214 participants raised over $14,000! We are expecting even more this year and would love to have your support! This team is passionate about raising research funds to find a cure for Rett Syndrome, while also raising awareness for this debilitating disorder.

2nd Annual Rockin’ for Rett Huntsville Dinner – October 17th
This will be an evening filled with great food, music, silent auction and an amazing guest speaker. We will be honoring 6 adorable young girls in our area that battle Rett Syndrome each day. Come meet these beauties and their amazing families! We have single tickets, tables of 8 and sponsorship opportunities available.

Smash Out Rett – October 20th
Join us for a “smashing” good time in Tampa, FL. Release your frustration by totally annihilating a room filled with dishes, TVs, and windshields. Weapons of choice include sledgehammers, baseball bats, pipes, golf clubs, and more! This is the perfect way to relieve stress, and also a great workout!

6th Annual Swingin’ 4 Rett – November 2nd

The evening will include Swing Dance lessons, a bake sale, Glow Dancing and a Garden of Hope…fun for the WHOLE family while fighting Rett Syndrome one dance at a time! Tickets are $12 each, and all proceeds will be donated to Girl Power 2 Cure.
