Dear GP2C team,

As the holiday season approaches, we always like to reflect on the accomplishments of the passing year. We have so much to be thankful for, and so much to thank you for also. You and your families, friends, and networks of supporters continue to demonstrate tremendous resolve in the fight against Rett Syndrome, and keeping our children ready for the future.

Rett Syndrome is tough. It’s hard to watch the physical and emotional toll. It’s hard to see your child or your grandchild struggle. It’s hard as a grandparent to see what it does to your children.  But GP2C exists, at its very core, to bring hope for all families dealing with Rett Syndrome. We have a hashtag – #HopeInAction – and it is the heart of all we do.

Despite the challenges, despite the physical and health-related setbacks, despite the waiting for new treatments, the drugs, the therapies, the diets… despite the negotiations with schools, insurance companies and everyone else to make sure your kid is “included” and gets a chance to prove that he or she is just like any other kid – we bring hope. We hope that comes through in everything we do.

Your participation is part of that hope – and it goes beyond monetary – I’m talking about the simple emotional and spiritual uplift we get by knowing you are fighting with us, and knowing that you care – we are so thankful, and we appreciate each and every one of you for helping to lift the spirits of these children and families dealing with Rett Syndrome.

We are so thankful that we can make a small difference in each of your lives. Every day we strive to do all we can to support our kids (your kids), and to make whatever positive impact we can that will help in your personal situations.  For 2020, we look forward with great anticipation to the next phase of gene therapy trials and other encouraging drug discovery announcements. But the work is not done, and until we have a cure, we will continue.

As we approach this season of giving, please remember Girl Power 2 Cure and Rett University, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. We will once again host our “Power of Your Gift Campaign” to align with national Giving Tuesday in early December (December 3rd) and throughout the month of December. Be on the lookout for additional announcements over the coming days, including our donation web site links.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the power of your networks – your personal outreach is a compelling tool that connects friends and family to your personal story and to the mission of GP2C.  In addition to our “POYG” donation sites, we will also provide customized Facebook Fundraiser templates. If you are willing, please consider one more Facebook Fundraiser to close 2019 and help us #RiseAboveRett

Thanks… and Happy Thanksgiving!
