Climb for a Cure in October
Rett Syndrome Awareness Month
Our Rett warriors (and their families) climb mountains every day and embody our theme of #HopeInAction! Get ready to help with that climb, as we embark on our Climb for a Cure campaign!
Long-time GP2C supporters, Shawn Shafai and Julie Nordquist, will embark on a month-long adventure to Nepal’s Himalayan mountains in October (Rett Syndrome Awareness Month), and we need you to come climb, too!
Ways to Participate
Support Julie and Shawn!
Julie and Shawn’s multi-week expedition will visit several fascinating locations as they train and prepare, culminating in the summit of Imja Tse (also known as Island Peak) in the breath-taking Himalayan mountains! Follow their journey on every leg with pictures and videos from every scenic stop.
Click here to meet Julie and Shawn as they describe their plans and inspiration!
You can support their heroic efforts on behalf of Girl Power 2 Cure and Rett University by donating here and encouraging your support networks to do the same!
Acknowledge Your Favorite Rett Warrior!
Send us the name and picture of your favorite Rett Warrior and family using this link.
Julie and Shawn will honor our girls and boys along every leg of their month-long expedition!
Our warriors will be assigned to each leg of the journey and recognized at the summit of Imja Tse on the GP2C Summit Banner. See your favorite Rett Warrior on top of the world, and encourage your family and friends to DONATE!
Host a Supporting Event!
Join in the fun and encourage your community by hosting your own themed event! A climb, a hike, a jeep or motorbike outing, a run or walk are all fantastic ways to spread awareness and support our GP2C Rett Syndrome Awareness Month activities.
We do all the work to establish your online registration and fundraising page (connected to our Climb for a Cure event), manage sign-ups, develop custom graphics, and provide event t-shirts and support materials! You invite and we administer… send a note to Amei and she will guide you through the entire process!
($35 donation per participant in each event – includes T-shirt and GP2C goodie bag)
