Thank you for considering a donation to support a cure for
Rett Syndrome, a genetic disorder that predominantly afflicts
girls by taking away their ability to walk, talk, and use their
hands purposefully.
When Luis and I met, we walked up to each other, started
talking, and, well, we both like to gesture with our hands!
You can imagine how difficult it would be to grow up
imprisoned in a body that cannot perform these basic
functions, or to have a family member who needs so much
help every day.
However, a recent breakthrough in mouse trials indicates
that the damage of Rett Syndrome may be reversible. Many
parents can now dare to hope that they will get their
daughters back someday.
One of these parents is my friend Ingrid, whose six-year-old
daughter Sarah is in kindergarten with a helper this year.
More research now means reaching these girls while they're
still young. Luis and I hope that you'll contribute to Girl
Power 2 Cure, a non-profit organization started by Ingrid to
raise funds to find treatments and a cure .
Thank you for your generosity!
Jen & Luis
