TRACK 9 - "King's Lullaby" by SteveSongs
This song comes from a story about a
King who is trying to get his daughter
to sleep. Finally, this sweet lullaby is
what does the trick!
Subject topics: sleep, dreaming,
parents, love
Speech/communication:
Using photos of familiar faces, create
cards for each family member
sleeping. They can be funny!
In addition to having your child identify
the correct images, try these ideas:
Record the names of each person into
a Step Switch. Have your child activate
the switch to make each family member
fall asleep on command. This can be
very funny especially if done while
doing another activity such as dancing,
eating dinner, playing ball!
Role play with a doll. Get the doll ready
for bed and play the song to help her
go to sleep.
Occupational therapy:
Make a large cardboard face. Cut out
large circle eyes and fold circle in half.
Glue the bottom half onto the face so
that the top half can be pushed down
to make the eyes "sleep." And opened
again for awake. Affix velcro to make it
a little more challenging.
Also, use to practice goodnight rituals:
blowing a kiss, reaching up to face with
a soft touch, hugging, or just loving
eye contact.
Sensory:
This is a great song to play while
brushing your child's skin or doing
massage. Very relaxing!
Physical therapy:
Try this game:
Go back and forth playing this song for
a few seconds and then the "Popstar"
song. When the sleepy song is on,
have her lie down and then when the
dance song pops on, "Wake up!", get
to standing, weight bear and dance!
Then back to lying down when you
hear the lullaby! Our whole family has
fun with this game that we got from the
song "Twinkle Twinkle Boom Boom" by
Scotty and Lulu.
