Rachel was born on January 21, 2005 in Rochester, New York. She lives with her mom,
dad, and big sister, Zoe.
She was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome on August 12, 2009 after 18 months with a
classic autism diagnosis. She has lost the little language that she once had and her
hand movements are limited. Although she has some problems with her legs and
ankles, she can still walk, run, climb, and cause all kinds of trouble!
Rachel likes to go to church and attend Sunday school. Although she isn't the best at
paying attention, she loves the activities and seeing all of the wonderful people.
Rachel goes to a special preschool where she has a wonderful teacher along with great
therapist who are working with her to improve her speech and movement. She loves
school and the bus!
Rachel has a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. She loves to entertain anyone and
everyone. Since she was a very small, we have said that she has an excellent sense of
humor.
One of her favorite activities is dress up. She has a beautiful collection of costumes.
Rachel also loves to dance with her big sister, Zoe. They are very close and we can
always count on Zoe to make Rachel smile.
