Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy are all part of our childhood and now thanks to the Mitchell family we have a fun new character to add to our lives….the Valentine Aardvark!!
"I began as a tradition for a family because they thought Valentine's Day as too romantic, too lovey-dovey, and just not plain fun enough for kids. Grandpa Ron started the legend of a super cool aardvark-me who fills up pouches with goodies at night. His eight children continued the tradition within their families.
When Ron passed away suddenly 5 years ago, his kids decided that it would be a great tribute to their dad to send me out into the world to bring non-gooey Valentine fun to kids of all ages everywhere!"
A FACEBOOK CHALLENGE TO HELP GP2C:
Now through February 1st the Valentine Aardvark is donating $1.00 for every new “like” it receives! What a fun way to raise money!
When we asked Bonnie, the site creator, why she chose GP2C she said, “In the spirit of making Valentine's Day a holiday for kids as well as couples, we decided to try to use the idea to help kids in serious ways as well as just a way to have fun. We only know about Rett Syndrome and Girl Power 2 Cure through our friends, the Hilemans, but following their journey makes us believe that the research is progressing and that every dollar can help save little girls' lives. Social media is an incredible tool in awareness and fundraising for great projects."
Currently, the Mitchell’s are donating their own money to help these causes as incentive for people to check out the Valentine Aardvark. Their hope is that many other families will adopt the tradition of the Valentine Aardvark as a way to bring fun and family tradition into their homes for Valentine's Day!
