Board Game Challenge!

Our Founder's daughter, Sarah, got this amazing video "gift" from her Aunt Ashley on Christmas! We want to share the fun with you!

Ashley has been hosting monthly Board Game Challenge Nights since 2007 to raise funds for Rett Syndrome research in honor of Sarah. They filmed their most recent night just before Christmas and put this video together to show Sarah and introduce themselves!

Ashley says, "Because of Dress Up 2 Cure, I had heard of people setting up tea parties for their daughters and dressing up at school, so I decided to have people over and play board games with different themes for dressing up! We've had "silly hats only", tight and bright, black and white, pajamas, beach party and most recently Christmas Sweaters. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep it cold enough in my apartment for them to stay on very long, ha!

"Everyone pays $10 and brings a snack or something to drink to the events and we usually raise about $100 per event. I'm hoping to increase the size of the gatherings and make it a more official tournament, but for right now, we play all of the games that take away one of your ways to communicate.

Taboo, where you can't say certain words or use your hands; Pictionary, where you can't use your voice and have to draw it out; and, Guesstures where you can't use your voice and have to act it out. Balderdash and Scattagories usually make an appearance and sometimes people bring games of their own. All in all, we always have a great time getting ourselves out of the box and into a an evening full of fun challenges."

Thank you Ashley! Maybe some of you would like to host a Game Night? It's such a fun way to get together with friends and help Girl Power 2 Cure at the same time!
